You Reap What You Sow (Galatians 6:7)

In his message last Sunday, Dan Claire mentioned how William Wilberforce, after his conversion to Christianity, determined to make every second count. On June 21, 1786, at only twenty-six years old, Wilberforce wrote in his diary “to endeavour from this moment to amend my plan for time. I hope to live more than heretofore to God’s glory and my fellow-creatures’ good.” This included a study plan, whereby he read nine to ten hours a day, for at least a month every summer for the next twelve years. Of course it was also through this resolve that he succeeded in his “two great objects: the suppression of the Slave Trade and the reformation of manners.”

St. Paul says, “A man reaps whatever he sows,” Gal 6:7.  Wilberforce is a great example of sowing for eternal life. What seeds are you planting?
