Each Sunday in worship we pray for our children: “Almighty God, Heavenly Father, you have blessed our congregation with the joy and care of children. Give us courage, patience, and wisdom as we bring them up in the faith, that they might never know a day apart from you.”
Our ministry to families stems directly from this prayer. We believe that each child is a blessing. As a congregation, we are committed to both the joy and care of children. Our desire is for each child to be so nurtured in and transformed by the love of God that they remain in that love forevermore. To this end, we serve children and parents in these ways:
Sunday Worship Children’s Ministry. Read more about our nursery and Children’s Chapel on Sundays here.
Children’s Ministry Special Events. Throughout the year we also provide special event programming such as an Ash Wednesday kids interactive event, Stations of the Cross in Lincoln Park, our annual Parish Retreat, and more.
Monthly Youth Meetings. Our ministry to youth seeks to continue the work of discipleship, build community amongst the youth and adults of the church, and offer more advanced catechesis. Youth ages 11-18 meet monthly during the school year for dinner, discussion, and prayer.
Mentoring. Upon request, we pair youth with adults in the church for ongoing mentoring.  These relationships often involve study and prayer, but are also intended to expand how our youth imagine what it means to live as the people of God.
Catechesis and Confirmation. As youth express interest, we engage them in a process of catechesis that culminates with the rite of confirmation. Through this process, youth meet with one of the clergy, memorize portions of the catechism, and are encouraged to probe into their own questions of faith.
Encouraging Families. In addition to teaching children to live gospel-centered lives, the Children’s Ministry seeks to encourage and support families by facilitating, discipling and offering practical support to them as they seek with their families to live out the Gospel for the life of our city.
Rez Moms. Mothers meet together weekly for fellowship and prayer. Childcare is provided.
"Baby Blessings" and Meals for New Parents. We hold special prayer events for expectant mothers, aka "baby blessings." We also support new parents with several weeks of home-cooked meals following the birth of a child.
