Stephen Ministry trains laypersons to do one-to-one, distinctly Christian caring ministry with those going through difficult times in life. These trained caregivers are called “Stephen Ministers,” and they commit to meeting one hour per week with a care receiver (someone who is going through a difficult life circumstance). To learn more, please see the FAQs below:
The Stephen Ministry was started in 1976 and has been established in many churches across the US. Rez has trained several laity to serve as “Stephen Ministers”, who completed 50 hours of training and will be available to meet once per week with someone going through a difficult time. Stephen Ministers have a ministry of listening, being present, and helping a hurting person (the Care Receiver) process through their thoughts.
