Rwandan Reconciliation Workshop

20 years ago, Rwanda survived a harrowing genocide where one million Tutsis and moderate Hutus were systematically murdered, and has spent much of the two decades since learning and wrestling with how to forgive one another in order to rebuild their nation and sustain peace.

One of Rwanda’s leading voices for reconciliation, Antoine Rutayisire, is coming to DC shortly after Easter, and will share his personal story of struggle, including witnessing the murder of his own father at age 5, and ultimately choosing to forgive and be reconciled.  Antoine is the co-founder and President of the As We Forgive – Rwanda Initiative as well as the Senior Pastor of St. Peter’s Anglican Church in the capitol city of Rwanda.

On Wednesday, April 30th, at 7:00pm, Church of the Resurrection would like to invite you to participate as  Rev. Antoine Rutayisire will lead us in a workshop covering some of his experience and musings, and explaining some of the material that they use in the As We Forgive outreach.  His presentation will be followed by time for Q&A.

Antoine will challenge us to consider a biblical vision for reconciliation in our lives and in our mission here in Washington, DC. This event will be held upstairs in the sanctuary of Christ our Shepherd Church, 801 North Carolina, SE, Washington, DC.
