Paul wrote to the church in Rome with careful instructions for both why and how they should represent God's Kingdom within the imperial capital. The gospel of Jesus is far better than Caesar's–especially Nero at the time of Paul’s writing. The Roman church was Christ’s embassy in what was increasingly regarded as the Caput Mundi, the capital of the world. In Romans 12-15, Paul gives practical guidance for how the church ought to practice Kingdom Diplomacy anywhere, but especially in a capital city where Jesus isn't regarded as king.
