Work: Vocation & Idolatry, Fri Oct 14, 7pm
God created us to work, to serve his kingdom. But often the reality of our work is mundane and frustrating – it doesn’t feel like a calling from God. Alternatively, it’s easy for our career to become an idol – a dream we pursue with all our heart, a place where we find meaning, significance, and hope. How do we strike a balance that affirms the God-given calling of our work, without turning it into an object of worship? How do we serve God with our work?
We’ll be considering these questions at our next Friday Night Fellowship on Friday October 14 , 7-8:30pm at COSC. There’ll be food and drink. Matthew Mason will give a short talk, and then there’ll be a panel Q&A with Randy Kenna, Andrea McDaniel, and Cam Nunery.
