Rez Women Museum Walk | 06.02.12

Ladies,

Would you care to elevate the culture quotient of your typical Saturday routine?  If your answer is “Oui, s’il vous plaît!”, then please join the Women of Rez on Saturday, June 2nd for the 2012 Museum Walk beginning at 2pm.

We’ll be touring both the National Geographic Museum and the Philips Collection and will finish our time together with some tasty fare and libations at the Darlington House.  Feel free to bring new friends along for the journey.  Admission is free for the day to both museums.

2:00pm: We’ll meet at the National Geographic Museum for “Titanic: 100 Year Obsession” where you can take a new look, from its historical beginnings to the latest research, at the ship that has captured the world’s imagination since it sank on April 15, 1912.  (We’ll gather at the Museum’s entry located at 1145 17th Street NW).

3:30pm: Next up, we’ll stroll towards Dupont Circle to tour The Phillips Collection, where we can view the Jasper Johns and Antony Gormley exhibitions as well as one of the world’s finest collections of modern and contemporary American and European art including Pierre-Auguste Renoir’s iconic Luncheon at the Boating Party, Jacob Lawrence’s epic Migration Series, and a chapel-like Rothko Room. (Address: 1600 21st Street NW).

5:00pm: Chances are, we’ll be a bit parched from all of the intellectual stimulation, so following the tours, we’ll meet at the Darlington House Cantina, so bring a little cash to grab a bite or something to toast the day with. (Address: 1610 20th Street NW, one block North of Dupont Circle).

If you have any questions or if you are struggling to find us along the way, don’t hesitate to email Cris so we will be sure to connect.

Look forward to seeing you there!
