Help Needed with Fundraising Yard Sale

The Playground project (details here) is moving forward after a successful carwash last Saturday, thanks to God’s good grace and the help of many volunteers.

The next fundraiser is a  yard sale, April 18.  We need lots of help for this one to be a success.  There are three major ways you can play a role: 1) donate items for sale, 2) come to the yard sale and shop generously, 3) volunteer to help execute the yard sale.  We need your help in any of these three areas.  Keep reading for details…

What: Fundraising Yard Sale for the Hopkins Playground Project

When: April 18, 9AM – 2PM

Where: Salvation Army parking lot, 1211 G St. SE

How you can volunteer: Send an email to buildtheplayground@yahoo.com if you can provide any of the below needs.

For Wednesday, 4/15:
– 6-8 trucks/station wagons needed to help pickup donated items curb side in Capitol Hill neighborhood and bring them to the Salvation Army Building between 6:30 pm to 9 pm that evening;
– 10 additional volunteers needed to either help drive the trucks and load the items or to help sort the collected items (we already have 10 volunteers for 4/15)
For Thursday, 4/16:
– need 15 volunteers to help receive and unload the donated items and to help sort out the items for sale;
For Saturday, 4/18:
– need 10-15 additional volunteers to help sell items, collect money, and other tasks…
