“WITNESSES CHANGE THE WORLD”

The book of Revelation can seem weird and unfathomable. But it’s a letter to the Church and the story of martyrs who share in Jesus’ triumph. Join us Saturday, May 6 at 7pm at Christ Our Shepherd Church (801 N. Carolina Ave. SE) as author, pastor, and theologian Dr. Peter Leithart unfolds the relevance of Revelation for life in DC.

The Good Friday Stations of the Cross for kids and families is back at Lincoln Park this year. Come join us Friday, April 14th, from 10 am-1:30 pm.

The event is a self-guided, self-paced journey through the story of Good Friday.

Each family will receive an empty bag with a story guide and a list of objects to be collected at the 15 stations. Your children can take these story bags home and use them to re-tell the Good Friday story. Families can spend as much or as little time at each station depending on the needs and ages of your children.

When: Good Friday, April 14th, from 10:00am-1:30pm

Where: Lincoln Park (Eastside) Washington, DC

Hosted by Church of the Resurrection

Refreshments will be provided and picnicking is welcomed.  In case of severe weather the  alternate location is the RezHouse 811 N. Carolina Ave. SE.

A fascinating fact: President Abraham Lincoln was assassinated on Good Friday, April 14, 1865. The statue of Lincoln in Lincoln park was unveiled on April 14, 1876, the 11th anniversary of his death. Frederick Douglas was the keynote speaker at this event with 25,000 people in attendance.

Come experience His Story and history with us. Please feel free to invite friends and spread the word.

We could also really use some volunteers to help for an hour or so on Friday, the 14th, with set-up and clean-up.  Sign up here if you are able to help for a bit!
