Muraho! The Rwanda team from Church of the Rez, Advent and Ascension made it safely to Rwanda on Friday, August 27 and has spent the past few days in Nyagatare (the location of our sister church), meeting the new pastor and his family. We also attended church services with the sister church and played football (soccer) with lots of children from the community. The Parish Council seeks recommendations from Resurrection members for 3 open seats on the council starting 10/1/2010. The terms for these positions are for 3 years. According to our by-laws (section 1.12), nominees must be (i) members since 4/1/2010 (ii) giving regularly and generously to the church; and (iii) at least 21. Sunday Lunch Cafe is a monthly ministry of Rez that serves homemade, sit-down lunches to our homeless neighbors living on the Hill.
