Rez Distinctives begins Sunday, February 14, at 3.30 pm at Christ our Shepherd Church.

This week: “What Does it Mean to be Anglican?” One of our “quirks” is that we are an Anglican church. In one sense we want to sit lightly to this distinctive, and certainly want to embrace all our brothers and sisters in Christ, whatever Christian tradition they belong to. But everyone has to belong somewhere. So why have we chosen Anglicanism? Revd Professor Christopher Byaruhanga will be helping us to consider what it means to be Anglican. He’ll be offering us a global perspective, drawing on Anglican history, to help us understand more of our identity as an Anglican church. Whether you’re an Anglican by conviction, or someone for whom Anglicanism is entirely baffling, do join us for this seminar.

Rez Essentials is a five week course for those who wish to learn more about our beliefs and practices, as well as those who are interested in membership in the Church of the Resurrection. We originally planned to begin the course on Wednesday, February 10. Due to the blizzard(s), we have postponed the start date two weeks to Feb 24 at 7 pm at Christ our Shepherd Church, 801 North Carolina Ave. SE, Washington, DC 20003.

Parking will be a challenge due to the snow; we recommend walking and riding metro for those who can do so. For those who can’t, we recommend saying compline at home.
